Tomatoes are one of the few plants that you can plant deeper than they are planted in the pot. If you have a long leggy tomato plant you can actually pinch the lower leaves off and plant it deeper than it is in the pot. All the little hairs that you see on the stem of a tomato will actually turn into roots!
